Unions in Rajasthan are often traditional and intricate affairs. Essentially, even an easy Marwari marriage in Rajasthan is just as complicated as convention and customs are more important than the rest. Rajasthani / Marwari Matrimony : Rajasthani families take utmost care for the ideal coalition. Firstly, the standing of both the families needs to be at par, also, the Marwari clan must be considered since the bride and the groom should hail from separate clans. At the brides place, the pithi dastoor is an intricate affair. The bride dresses in an orange poshak ( Rajasthani dress ) and is brought under a silken cover by 4 women who need to belong to the same clan as the bride. She is then brought to the gathering, where the sandal wood paste is applied on her. Mahira Dastoor : The Mahira Dastoor is one more vital rite, performed at both the bride and the grooms families. This rite is generally performed by the maternal uncle of the groom / bride, who comes with his better half and family and is received by the bride / grooms mummy with the standard welcome. He then distributes garments, jewelry, candy etc, to the complete family. This rite outlines a siblings love for his sister, who helps her to control the spending. The Marwari Baraat : The procession to the brides house is regal as there’s no dancing on the streets by the baraatis. The Baraat is principally began by the male members of the grooms family. All members, including the groom who rides an elephant or a horse, carry sabres. The Marriage rite : The marriage rite is comparable to a Hindu marriage. However, in the Rajasthani wedding, the bride must all thru the function cover her face with a veil.
